Mr. Johnson’s practice is primarily focused on the structuring and implementation of complex multi-million dollar financial transactions in the life settlement industry. He has significant experience advising clients on a variety of creative equity, debt and collateral financing techniques. In addition to his financial industry practice, Mr. Johnson also oversees the firm’s litigation matters. Mr. Johnson’s litigation eye has proven invaluable to his transactional practice, allowing him to recognize and address transactional risks at the formation stage before they become a serious problem. Mr. Johnson attended UCLA on an academic scholarship and earned his undergraduate degree in just three years. He went on to Chapman University School of Law, earning a Dean’s Scholarship and the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence in Constitutional Law, Government Contracts and Conflict of Laws. He was also selected to appear in Who’s Who in American Law Students. After graduating from Chapman at age 23, Mr. Johnson became one of the youngest attorneys ever admitted to practice law in California. Prior to co-founding the firm, Mr. Johnson worked as outside counsel to several of the world’s largest insurance companies. Mr. Johnson was born and raised in Southern California and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the Life Insurance Settlement Association. He is admitted to practice law in California, the United States Central, Southern and Eastern District Courts and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Johnson serves as a mentor to several law students and is a frequently requested guest lecturer at Chapman University School of Law. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, basketball and boating. |
